👈 کلمه hard به معنی سخت، دشوار و با جدیت است و به جهت گرامری صفت و قید. پس در این مفهوم حالت قید آن مانند موارد دیگر با اضافه کردن ly ساخته نمی شود. hardly قید است ولی مانند قیود حالت دیگر نیست. این کلمه به معنی "بندرت" یا "هیج، اصلاً) است.
👈 چنانچه hard به معنی جدی و شدید باشد حالت قیدی آن severely خواهد بود.
